Summer Picnic Brings Our Bases Together

Over 300 members from all 4 of our membership bases gathered together for DRUM’s 2019 Annual Membership Picnic at Sunken Meadows Park this past weekend. We got to celebrate our wins and accomplishments from this year so far, build with each other, share good food, play games, have a Young Peoples Liberation Area (YPLA), replay a gender justice natok (play) for members, have raffles, enjoy the beach, and prepare for our upcoming General All Members Assembly. Thank you to all the members that brought food, took up collective labor, and volunteers who held down the YPLA. The YPLA provided a meaningful experience for young people to build relationships, created a space for young people to consider fighting for justice alongside their parents, and supported parents so they can participate more fully in the picnic.
