DESIS FOR TRAYVON MARTIN
at DRUM- 72-18 Roosevelt Avenue, Jackson Heights, NY 11372
Youth, mothers, and communities of color raise voices with South Asian immigrant youth as part of a growing national movement for racial justice.
The movement for Justice for Trayvon Martin has energized new generations of racial justice organizers, sparked courageous sit ins, speak outs, and demands from Florida to NYC. As South Asian immigrant communities in NYC, DRUM has organized our community with communities of color to win victories on Stop & Frisk, and towards winning the Community Safety Act this week for NYPD reform. Youth have been a key part of this movement. Come hear their stories, demands, and organizing. Linked arm in arm as youth, workers, women, communities of color- we all stand together towards justice and equity.
